We kijken naar een fenomeen. Wendover Will is de grootste mechanische cowboy ter wereld, 19 meter hoog. Officieel opgenomen in het Guinness Book of World Records. Op deze foto staat Will nog op de plaats waar hij in 1952 werd neergezet: naast het Stateline Hotel in West Wendover, Nevada. Zijn job was voorbijgangers het hotel-restaurant binnen te lokken, en vooral: het casino. Dat deed hij 24/7, want 's avonds floepten de knipperende neonbuizen aan en was Will van grote afstand te zien. In 2005 werd Will door het hotel aan de stad West Wendover geschonken. Hij werd opgeknapt en verhuisde naar een prominente plek aan Wendover Boulevard. Op een andere sokkel, dat wel, maar nog net zo stralend.
