Tips for use

About ‘A brook at the gate of a country house in Normandy’ by Ron Poot

Picturesque spot along a footpath in the Orne valley. A stream flows along the entrance of an estate.
The valley of the Orne is also called the Switzerland of Normandy. The tops of the Suisse Normande are nowhere higher than 300 meters, so not really mountainous, but still the landscape here sometimes unmistakably reminds of the Alps. Nature has been shaped by the rivers, it is wooded, varied, pure. The slopes of the deep, green valleys are steep and the water flows in the river gorges have carved beautiful and often surprising landscapes in the rocks. And to complete the picture, in the valleys or against the flanks of the hills some picturesque villages have been pasted.
