I took this photo with crocuses on the Staverden estate in Gelderland near Ermelo. On the Gelderland estate Staverden are a few fields with crocuses of which this is one but also loose pickings of crocuses. What you just can't see in the photo is the Staverdensebeek(Hierden stream) in the background. These purple and white crocuses are mixed in the sandy soil of the Veluwe, they were planted in this spot. These crocuses were between a road and a footpath I was walking along.

Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the beginning I mainly do nature photography, it is mainly landscapes I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work.
