After a few long-awaited rains, nature is blossoming in Portugal's Algarve and the parched cliffs and rocks are turning into seas of green. The low season is starting and this is reflected in the number of visitors drastically decreasing.
Beaches like this one, Praia dos Estudantes just outside lagos, are no longer full of towels and sunbeds and the clear blue water muddies up as soon as the first waves wash ashore. For me, that's the magic of the off-season. Besides, the temperatures are a lot more pleasant ;-)
In the morning, the low-hanging sun creates beautiful shadows and a golden yellow colour, resulting in beautiful pictures like this one.
