The Barba Azul Nature Reserve in Bolivia is a paradise for many colorful birds. The reserve protects the endangered Blue-throated Macaw, but the more common Blue-and-yellow Macaw also benefits from this. A pair of Blue-and-yellow Macaws also remains a beautiful sight! Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 (#WPY59). All my pictures were taken in the wild, so nothing from the zoo! I have been photographing since I was twelve years old and the focus has always been on nature photography. In the Netherlands I mainly look at birds, but abroad mammals also have my interest.
