I took this photo in the Leuvenum forest near Harderwijk in the Veluwe. The stream in the photo is the Leuvenumse beek, it is also called the Hierdense beek. Next to the brook you can see a few hills, which used to be small sand dunes. In this part of the forest are mainly beech trees. When I took this photo, it was early January. In recent years, this brook is almost dry in summer as autumn because of the drought. To take this photo, I used a tripod for more stabilisation. Furthermore, for this photo I used 2 different photos with different exposures so that the sky that you can see between the branches is better, it actually became an HDR photo.
Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the beginning I mainly do nature photography, it is mainly landscapes I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work.
