This photo shows one of the Calatrava bridges in Haarlemmermeer. The Calatrava bridges are three bridges over the Hoofdvaart canal. The bridges were designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Calatrava designed three white cable-stayed bridges, each with an inclined steel pylon that has both an aesthetic and a structural function - typical of the Spaniard's work.
The bridges were given the names of the instruments Harp, Citer and Lute because of the strings-like tethers.
The bridge in this photo is bridge the Harp.
