"Abstraction in taupe - beige and grey and shades (Drops on a grass spike)" is a macro photo of a number of water droplets hanging from a grass spike (lamprey grass). Because I chose a very small depth of field when taking this photo, only a few droplets / small pieces of spikes are in focus. The other parts blur the further they get from this focus point (plane), giving a great sense of depth to the work. The distinctive outlines of the spikes can be seen in dark grey-brown tones faintly in the background. In the foreground you can see the sprigs coming towards the camera from the spikes, with the water droplets attached to them. By magnifying small things around us that we hardly see, they can amaze and astonish us!
