Aeronautica Militare Aermacchi MB-339 CD.
The Aermacchi MB-339 is a military jet trainer and light attack aircraft designed and manufactured by the Italian aviation company Aermacchi.
The MB-339 was developed in the 1970s for the Italian Air Force to replace the fleet of Aermacchi MB-326s. The design of the MB-339 is derived from the MB-326 so these two aircraft have significant similarities. The first flight of the MB-339 took place on August 12, 1976, and the first production aircraft were delivered two years later.
About half of the 230 MB-339s produced were delivered to the Italian Air Force, the rest were sold to various export customers. The type is not only used for training, but is also flown by the famous aerobatic display team of the Italian Air Force: Frecce Tricolori.
