African sunset in the mountains of Ethiopia. Near the holy city of Lalibela in northern Ethiopia are many mountains. Nature is beautiful there and the landscape is very varied. It is a beautiful area to do multi-day hiking. The people are very friendly and own very little. The people live very simply in huts, they do not know luxury here. Life there is not easy. Here in the north of the country it can be very barren and dry. Then the mountains turn brown and bare. In the rainy season, it is green. The contrast between the dry season and the rainy season is great. It is beautiful to visit this region of Ethiopia in both the rainy and dry seasons. This photo was taken just before the sun sets. The layers of mountains you see give an idea of the size of the area.
