Portraits an infinite subject. Portraits in watercolor, pastel crayon , acrylic and oil crayon.
Portrait of an African woman with gold jewelry. African v ries are strong, proud and beautiful.
Having lived and worked in The Gambia / Africa for many years, I am proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to interact with these strong women many times. Learned a lot from the culture and the people. An experience you take with you your whole life.
I try to capture the pride of the African people. This can be in photos but also in paintings and drawings.
This portrait is painted with pastel and acrylic on black paper.

I have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
