Anneriek de Jong Profile picture I don't really like the big city. But you can also approach Amsterdam as a landscape photographer. You then have an eye for the river,, the sky, the light. Here I was standing on the Amstel, just past the Hermitage. The Herengracht also looked like a river, a small one, flowing into the Amstel. The sky on that late winter afternoon soon turned an old pink. Amsterdam had become a water city under the clouds.
