I am Ton Valk and 'by nature' a nature photographer. I can be found outside a lot. And I photograph everything that grows, blooms, jumps and flies. That may be a beautiful reflection of a water plant, a robin that catches a fish or a damselfly that just comes out of the water. The atmosphere is warm with shots of cows in the morning mist and tranquil landscapes. But also architectural buildings belong to my repertoire. With my eye for detail I try to make the pictures interesting.
Born in May 1956, I had a camera from an early age to take pictures of everything that came in front of my lens. Starting in the analogue era with a Minolta SLR, I later switched to a digital camera, a Sony Mavica with floppy drive. My first Dslr was the Minolta Dynax 5D, then the Dynax 7D. And then came the Sony era, started with the A700 and then the A900, A77, A77II, A6300, A6500 and finally the A7III.
For Ton, photography is a passion, or as he says himself: "It's a hobby that got out of hand, in which I like to spend a lot of time. Subjects enough, there is much that attracts my attention. Nature, the seasons, close to home or far away. With the pictures taken in my own environment, I can show how beautiful it really is here. I always live nature and want to share this experience. I can spend hours on a subject. A lot of macro, because familiar subjects turn out to have very special details. And then preferably see what someone else did not (yet) see. That really give
