About "Ancient dead tree in Namibia desert 2"

About the artwork

There is only one moment in the day when you can take this photo in Deadvlei, Namibia (Africa). For this, I had to get out of bed as early as 4am. The sun had just risen, but was just poking above the dunes. As a result, the tree with dunes was just in the light. You can still see the line of shadow. A few moments later, the sun poked above the huge dunes and it soon turned 40 degrees.

The trees in Deadvlei, deep in Namibia's Namib Desert, are almost 900-year-old camel thorn trees. They died centuries ago when the Tsauchab River, their water source, changed course. The extreme climate and drought prevented the trees from decaying, but they were blackened and mummified by the sun. Their dark, skeletal forms stand out sharply against the white clay plain, bright orange dunes and clear blue sky. This produces a surreal and haunting landscape, known worldwide as an iconic image in both photography and natural history.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
