Armadillos are special mammals that live in South America. In the Barba Azul Nature Reserve in Bolivia, I came across this beautiful Six-banded Armadillo that was easy to approach. It stood on its hind legs for a moment to smell what was around it. For more photos of Barba Azul go to: http://naturebylennart.com/birds-blog/visiting-barba-azul-nature-reserve/.

All my pictures were taken in the wild, so nothing from the zoo! I have been photographing since I was twelve years old and the focus has always been on nature photography. In the Netherlands I mainly look at birds, but abroad mammals also have my interest. I often travel with the purpose of seeing a certain animal. For the story behind the pictures and many more pictures go to my website: https://www.naturebylennart.com.
