Panoramic photo of the valley near the Bødalsbreen glacier in Norway. This valley is a side arm of Lake Lovatnet near Loen.
It is a joy to hike here. Although the route is not very challenging, there is not much difference in height during the walk, but the valley is really beautiful. You start along the river, cross it and then come closer and closer to the glacier.
We walked there at the beginning of June and the bushes and trees had only just started to leaf. But it was also the untouchedness and spaciousness of the area with the snowy mountains that impressed me. I thought it was so beautiful.
For the photo I stand with my back to the glacier, the water that you see running between the stones is melting water. It collects in the small lake Sætrevatnet (left in the photo). The water continues as a river into the valley, eventually ending up in the large lake Lovatnet near Loen.
