"Black - White: White Gerbera "looking" at its distorted reflection" is a photograph of a Gerbera holding a petal "in its lap". On this petal is a drop of water, and it looks as if the Gerbera is "looking" at the watery reflection on the mirrored surface. (A kind of anthropomorphism: giving human characteristics to flowers / plants) To me, this image has something vulnerable, endearing but at the same time also funny and tough! A shallow depth-of-field was chosen when making this photo. This ensures that only a small part is in focus and the further you get away from this part oe vague the image becomes. The focus is approximately at the bottom of the heart of the gerbera and at the drop below the heart, on the reflective surface. This adds depth to the work, but also creates a dreamy atmosphere! This work could be beautifully hung as wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, hall or simply above the couch in the living room!
