In the month of May the lake was still largely frozen and the boathouse unused.
Maligne Lake is a lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is famous for the colour of the water, the surrounding peaks, the three glaciers visible from the lake and Spirit Island, a frequently photographed island. The lake is located 44 km south of the town of Jasper and can be reached by car.
