Breakwater in the IJsselmeer at sunset, near Hindeloopen, Friesland. It is an old, weathered seawall that protects the coast from the pounding of the waves and prevents land from eroding. It is made of thick wooden poles with stones in between to increase its strength. The breakwater dates back to the time when the IJsselmeer was directly connected to the open sea.
Specialized in landscapes and nature, especially in the Netherlands. The Veluwe forests and the waterfront are common subjects, sometimes with the contrast of nature and human traces. Preferably photographed in the early morning or late evening, and under weather conditions that enhance the photograph.
