I photographed this Frangipani flower while travelling through Thailand in the beautiful temple city of Ayutthaya. The flower was in the hand of a large Buddha statue clad in a yellow shawl.
The yellow and orange clothing of the monks acts as a constant reminder of the importance of letting go as the basis of Buddhism; nothing is fixed and if I say now, the moment has already passed. The Frangipani flower represents the beginning of a new life, challenge or big step towards a new life.
I love zooming in on something relatively small and then highlighting it through composition and little depth of focus. It was so beautiful there, I almost couldn't stop photographing and so was able to create many beautiful images for my Mindful Living Art collection.
Bright Side of Life 1 is part of a triptych: Bright Side of Life 1, 2 & 3. You can also buy it as a single photo or as a diptych.

"In 2010, I was asked to exhibit my photography at the Living Tibet event in the Netherlands, where six Lamas from Tibet shared their Buddhist wisdom. I selected photos that exuded an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity for the ultimate meditation environment and created the Mindful Living Art collection."
"Over the past few years, I have added special photographs of meaningful projects to the collection, as well as created beautiful diptychs and triptychs for a unique piece of art on the wall that contributes to a nice atmosphere at home or in your work environment."
The collection consists of 150 photos of which I add a series every week. For special requests and/or choice advice email me at info@tessajol.com
