Cargo ships along the quay in Baasrode on the River Scheldt. (Belgium ) Pieter Ringoot - Oil on canvas circa 1985. The church of Baasrode and the ferry across the Scheldt are visible in this impressionist landscape painting.
Baasrode is a village in the Belgian province of East Flanders and a borough of the city of Dendermonde. It was an independent municipality until the municipal redivision of 1977.
It is now an industrial and residential village in the Scheldt Valley in the Dender region. Baasrode also includes the hamlet of Vlassenbroek, where Pieter also made several paintings.
As Pieter's grandson (and raised in Baasrode), I have photographed many of my grandfather's works in high resolution, (and sometimes digitally restored) for all to enjoy. Some of the photographed works are available, as prints on various materials, via this site. Would you like to see more of Pieter's work? Then take a look at the Ringoot Gallery website. (www.galerieringoot.com)
By purchasing a reproduction, you help me manage the works, the website and maintain my grandfather's colourful legacy.
Thank you in advance for your purchase.
