North Groningen is a beautiful part of the Netherlands. You can still find the peace and space that is often lacking elsewhere. As a result, I can often be found photographing there. This photo was taken at the end of summer, right after a heavy rain shower. In the background, the departing shower can still be seen, while in the foreground the wet raining path is brightly lit by the reappearing sun. The lone tree looks almost un-Dutch to me. It looks more like it belongs on an African savannah.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Robert Wierenga. Leuk dat je mijn werk bekijkt. Naast mijn werk als Spoedeisende Hulp arts ben ik actief als landschapsfotograaf. Het vastleggen van onze mooie wereld biedt me een mooi tegenwicht voor de hectiek binnen de ziekenhuismuren. Aangezien ik in Groningen woon, maak ik de meeste van mijn foto's in de 3 noordelijke provincies. Ik trek er graag op uit tijdens de momenten met het mooiste licht, vaak rond zonsopkomst of zonsondergang. Mijn werk kenmerkt zich door eenvoudige, sterke composities en vaak een intensief gebruik van kleur en contrast.
