The Concorde was a supersonic passenger airliner. Only twenty aircraft were built, including four prototypes. The aircraft first flew in 1969, it made its last flight on October 24, 2003. The name means unity.
The Concorde was a prestige project of the British and French governments. The plans for the aircraft were made in 1955. The development was accompanied by many problems between the British and the French which often had to be settled at a high political level. Another cause of the problems was that there was a production line in both countries. However, a few years later this would lead to the creation of the international consortium Airbus.
The Concorde could fly up to a height of 18 kilometers and reach a speed of mach 2.04, more than twice the speed of sound. This enabled the aircraft to fly from London to New York in less than three hours. Concorde set a speed record of 1920 km/h on the New York-London route on 7 February 1996,[3] with a take-off speed of around 400 km/h and a landing speed around 290 km/h.

Hello, nice that you take a look in my shop. So my name is Gert Hilbink, living in Coevorden. I have been doing photography since I was 13, inspired by a biology teacher at the then U.L.O. school in Coevorden. Generally I mainly photograph nature but actually find everything that can fly very interesting. If you have any questions about my work, it is possible to contact me via the contact page of my website GertPhotography.nl
