A close-up photo of cracked lava rock. In the crack you can see the glow coming from the lava.
In March 2021, the Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted in Iceland. An active volcano with eruptions of unprecedented magnitude. When the volcano was still active two months later, I grabbed my chance and booked a flight. It was an indescribable experience to watch from about 250 meters distance how the lava kept shooting up to 400 meters into the air.
This photo is part of a larger collection of the Fagradalsfjall volcano.
In my free work I combine my passion for travel with my great love photography. Landscapes and nature cover the majority of the works offered here, from the winter landscapes of Norway to the tropical jungles of Costa Rica. And, not to forget, pictures of my city: Rotterdam.
