Near Haarzuilens Castle stands a sea of crocuses. Thousands of flowers, in the most delicate shades of purple, white and yellow, spread out like a living painting. The colours seem to dance in the warm evening sun, like brushstrokes by an impressionist master. The field gently undulates, as if the earth itself is breathing, while the flowers, like tiny specks of paint, playfully embrace each other.

Nikkor 5CM F2 LTM vintage lens (1946-1962)
In this picture, the focus was deliberately set at close range, with a wide aperture. As a result, the crocuses further down the image become paint dots. The optical construction of the vintage Nikkor lens - a so-called sonnar type - creates a nice gradient of blur / bokeh.
