This artwork is inspired by the cycle of life. I find this so fascinating every time. The sowing, nature doing its work, the farmer's love of tending the crop, growing and flowering into full-fledged plants. And then the giving of the fruit and the dying off of the plant. Wonderful how everything is then so connected. This was therefore the basis for this work of art. Symbolically referring to life as a whole, because I, like all of you, am constantly experiencing this cycle. And I realise more and more that nothing is for nothing. Sometimes it drives me to despair, but I also know that by now I can trust in it, and it will blossom and bear fruit again.
All my works are inspired by the things I encounter around me, or the stories I hear. Look for more artworks in my webshop or for the original drawings at www.kunstbloc.com
Anca Blok grew up as a farmer's daughter in the middle of nature. In this environment, with distant horizons, the basis for her art was laid. In the emptiness, Anca finds her inspiration for her striking portraits and drawings of swaying reeds.
Besides her own work, Anca makes charcoal drawings on commission for both individuals and companies. The combination of Anca's artistic vision and the client's wishes create beautiful realistic artworks in which the emotion is palpable. Anca's artworks have previously hung in the Rijksmuseum, at solo exhibitions and are known from TV programmes such as Sterren op het doek and VTwonen weer verliefd op je huis.
Characteristic of Anca's work is the combination of drawing and poetry.
