I was lucky enough to be on Vlieland during the December storm of 2013. Wonderful conditions to take atmospheric photos of this beautiful island. This shot is of the fire toe on the Vuurboetsduin, the second highest dune in the Netherlands. Around sunset, heavy clouds moved over at flying speed. I waited until the light from the lighthouse came on. Taking a small view of the tower and its little house made them appear all the more void under the stormy weather.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Robert Wierenga. Leuk dat je mijn werk bekijkt. Naast mijn werk als Spoedeisende Hulp arts ben ik actief als landschapsfotograaf. Het vastleggen van onze mooie wereld biedt me een mooi tegenwicht voor de hectiek binnen de ziekenhuismuren. Aangezien ik in Groningen woon, maak ik de meeste van mijn foto's in de 3 noordelijke provincies. Ik trek er graag op uit tijdens de momenten met het mooiste licht, vaak rond zonsopkomst of zonsondergang. Mijn werk kenmerkt zich door eenvoudige, sterke composities en vaak een intensief gebruik van kleur en contrast.
