The forest of Amerongen on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug in the Netherlands is one of it's oldest forest. Because of that the trees are almost of an un-dutch height. This morning a haze hang in the forest, giving the sunlight an ethereal glow.
The photograph made me think of the famous photograph of New York Central Station where the rays of sunlight illuminate the pedestrians down below. In this case it was not the pedestrians life that was illuminated, but the calmth and the tranquality of the forest that was enforced by the sun rays.

I was born with photography in my blood, but I never knew I had it in me till I was hit with the photography bug. Since then I’ve been shooting at least weekly, have done workshops and have been expanding my photography knowledge on a daily basis. With trips to Sicily and the Lake District I'm trying to expand my photography horizon beyond the Dutch borders. The photos in my shop have been made on various locations around the Netherlands. From the forest of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug to the tip of Noord-Holland and down to the coast of Zeeland. Now you can own one of my favourite shots on your own wall!
