In the dark, abandoned attic of a mill stands an old, dusty chest that may once have harboured valuable secrets. The worn, leather-covered body shows clear signs of time - faded colours, worn corners and fine cobwebs stretched across the sturdy metal and leather. The faint light filtering through a small window illuminates the surface and lends the scene a mysterious atmosphere. Surrounded by yellowed newspapers and remnants of days gone by, the chest looks like a silent witness to long-forgotten stories. It radiates a melancholy beauty that fires the imagination and raises questions about its contents and its past. A relic in a lost place that epitomises the transience of time and awaits the adventure of discovery.

My best friend introduced me to abandoned and forgotten places in March 2023. We watched lost place videos together and I was very fascinated by them. He said to me "I know something, let's go". So we drove about 45 minutes to an abandoned rehab clinic. When we got there, I was amazed when I saw the huge abandoned area in the middle of the forest. I was so excited and impressed that I have been visiting and photographing more and more abandoned places ever since. At first I only used my mobile phone, but after a while I was no longer satisfied with the quality. So I bought my first camera in February 2024 and started to teach myself everything I needed to know to get started. You never stop learning, so I'm always keen to learn new things about photography and image processing.
