Have been enjoying being creative with the subject of a fascinating owl. In real life, owls are truly beautiful birds! Birds have always inspired and fascinated me. Especially their ability to fly themselves is extremely special. The beauty of owls is that they look so beautiful out of their eyes. Big eyes that can keep a close eye on everything, especially at night. And then, of course, if you also have a head that can turn almost all the way around, you can see everything even better. How turning an owl's neck is anatomically possible is such a clever feat of nature! I found this owl in a second-hand shop. In the shape of a t-shirt. I wore this owl t-shirt for a long time but now, unfortunately, it has seen its best days. Before the garment goes into the bag of old clothes, I wanted to 'catch' the owl to keep it forever. Because I think this owl is so beautifully designed. A shape that reminds me of the Indians. I converted the photo to black and white to make the shapes and textures stand out even more. Also, the owl's eyes are even more pronounced in black and white, looking at you penetratingly. Finally, I added some movement to the photo. This gives the owl artwork extra dynamism. And this beautiful bird certainly deserves that!
I see making art as a creative process.
As a starting point for this process, I always use a photo or a painting of my own. Photography or painting is always my basis.
A photo or a painting is therefore always a fixed starting point for me in this process. I often have a plan in my head about what the end result should be, but during the process I often change direction. The effect of this is that the final work of art is different from what I had previously thought, but that only makes the creative process more fascinating for me!
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me. For example, objects in and around the house or something from nature. Every object has its own structure and shape. Beautiful lines, patterns and colours can be found everywhere.
My collection contains creative and realistic photos, special paintings, but also photos and paintings that have finally been digitally edited or distorted.
I have made all of this with great pleasure and I hope that you will enjoy the work of art that will hang on your wall!
