A month after the festival and celebrations and Easter memories remain in the shape of this wooden cross with a red ribbon and a posy of flowers that has been stood in a dis-used drinking fountain with a pump near a church in Panicale, Umbria, Italy. Easter is one of the biggest religious festivals of the year in Italy and this scene backs onto the wall of a church in the main square. I love the contrast between the stone and red brick, as well as the softness and simplicity of the pale wooden cross next to the historic black water pump.
