This is an acrylic pour painting using a drag technique and a cell activator to create this beautiful piece I have called Effervescence.
I set out to great something of a seascape originally. I selected shades of blue, green and aqua, some white for highlights and little touches of purple because it is my favorite color and why not?
I added a cell activator to white which was then dragged over the design I had created and as the cells activated this glorious image appeared. It is exactly what I wanted in terms of colors but it reminds me of an undersea scene, reminiscent of my scuba diving days.
I love the suggestion of bubbles rising up through cool shades of green and blue and over white clouds reminiscent of coral reef. I don't know if as an artist I am allowed to have favorites but this is one of mine. It is relaxing, calm and just a pleasure to gaze upon.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
