During my childhood in Hoogvliet , a suburb in the shadow of the refineries of the Rotterdam (The Netherlands) harbor area, I have developed an endless passion for raw industrial environments and urban landscapes. I prefer to draw and paint in black and white with the city of Rotterdam as a common topic. Ever since childhood I am always busy drawing and painting. Logically, I went to art school to study Illustration (Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam). After my graduation I started working as a freelance illustrator under the name 'Govart' and combined this with the study Media & Culture and a Master Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam. After that I started working as an illustrator / graphic designer at an animation studio and currently I am working as an illustrator at design Jora Vision and create concept art for theme parks around the world.Next to my job I illustrate and paint for individuals and businesses.
