It was an off and on flying of European Turtle doves from the dark pine forest. The light came from the left and every time the European turtle doves came flying in, they were illuminated for a split second by a sunbeam that found its way through the treetops. They seemed to escape the dark emptiness

Nature fascinated me from a young age. Romping in the fields, fishing in local ponds and observing birds and animals was fascinating. Meanwhile, I have visited many dozens of countries. In the beginning mainly with a fishing rod in my hand, but now I am almost exclusively accompanied by my camera. Oceania is the only continent I haven't visited yet. On several of those continents, I have been part of expeditions. I prefer to stay in a tent far away from civilisation. Preferably also invisible to wild life so that they let me behold their secrets. Actually, little has changed in all these years, because nature still fascinates me. I can also lose myself very easily in the moment and it would not be the first time that I put the camera to one side and enjoy the spectacle unfolding before me.
