From the collection -Visual Words-.
Words are like images, each image tells a story. Visual Words. Placing object and their meaning in a different perspective creates a new way of seeing. A perspective shift that can create a beautiful, imaginative and sometimes alienating image.
Both the fire and the feather need the air. The fire needs air/oxygen to burn and the feather needs air to float. The one warming but also devastating the other soft and tender. A greater contrast is hardly imaginable. But together they are connected by air.
This work fits perfectly in a minimalist interior, as a real eye-catcher.
Michel Rijk, a creative living in the south of the Netherlands. Is married to Charlotte and together they have two daughters. He gets his inspiration from all kinds of music, art, nature, everyday moments and encounters. From an early age, Rijk has been drawing. So it was no surprise that he chose the advertising side.Hence his approach. Strongly visual and always with an idea, a story, a thought.
His mind is always looking for the connection between opposites. Putting object and their meaning in a different perspective. Creating a new way of seeing. Words are like images, each image tells a story. Visual words. A perspective shift that can create a beautiful, imaginative and sometimes alienating perspective. In addition to visual photographic work, Rijk also illustrates. In which he tries to make it as abstract as possible without losing its meaning and power. Trying to simplify to clarify.
Words are like images and each image tells a story.
