stadion van Feijenoord, more commonly known by its nickname ‘De Kuip’ (the Tub) is a stadium in Rotterdam, Netherlands, that was completed in 1937. The name is derived from the Feijenoord district in Rotterdam, and from the club with the same name (although the club's name was internationalised to Feijenoord in 1973).
The stadium's original capacity was 64,000. In 1949, it was expanded to 69,000, and in 1994 it was converted to a 51,117-seat all-seater. In 1999, a significant amount of restoration and interior work took place at the stadium prior to its use as a venue in the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament, although capacity was largely unaffected.
Niels Dam is a semi-professional photographer based in the Netherlands. He spends his free time traveling around the world and capturing Cityscapes, Landscapes and Forestscapes.
"I prefer to shoot during the ‘magic hours’ of the day, as these usually provide the opportunity to capture the most beautiful images in unique lighting conditions. I found that photography offers me the chance to present the world as I see it or as a I would like it to be: beautiful, wonderful and full of mystery. My landscapes are not always a ‘true’ representation of visual reality, but more an equivalent of what I saw and felt at that particular moment in time."
