The busy town of Passignano Sul Trasimeno sits on the shore of Lago Trasimeno, the largest lake in Central Italy that boasts three islands. Passignano has its own ferry terminal where passengers can embark to visit the islands or other towns on the other side of the lake, such as Castiglione Del Lago. Equally, passengers arrive from elsewhere to spend the day in Passignano Sul Trasimeno, so the ferry terminal plays a vital part in the economics of the town. Here we can the side of the ferry terminal with a gangway for passengers to climb on and off the ferries. To the left you can see old wooden boat pilings that are used to assist with mooring. These are used less these days with the modern passenger ferries that are in use.
