Flower echium purple blue by Ivonne Fuhren- van de Kerkhof

The flowers of the echium, also called snakeweed, are beautiful blue, purple, lilac with pink in color. I photographed this flower in the wild. This flower is native but very rare. So I was also super happy when I saw this wild flower. The botanical name is Echium vulgare.

It is a medicinal herb that is still used as a tea for fevers and headaches. However, it is also widely used in skin care products because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect.

I took this picture with my macro lens. I love the texture of the petals and the beautiful hairy stems. The spherical background makes this photo unique.

The color purple has a calming, purifying and comforting effect in a room. Combined with the green, it gives balance and equilibrium. Did you know that green is the most healing color there is? This color balances thinking and feeling. One more reason for nature on the wall.

My name is Ivonne Fuhren- van de Kerkhof and I was born in Asten, a small village in the province of Noord Brabant. At the moment I live in Someren.

All my life I have felt a deep connection with nature and everything that lives. Being in nature is for me much more than just taking pictures. I am deeply touched in my heart by everything I see.

My big preference in photography is macro photography. I like the fact that the smallest details become visible in butterflies, dragonflies, other insects, flowers and plants. These have beautiful structures, shapes and colors.

Through macro photography a world of details becomes visible that is almost invisible to the naked eye, such as the structures of a wing or the veins of a leaf. With their beautiful colors and shapes, butterflies, dragonflies and flowers are my big favorite.

The more I am involved with photography, the more unconditional love I develop for everything that lives. More and more I learn to see how unique all forms of life are. Nature itself is a great artist.

While photographing I play with colors, light, shapes and backgrounds, in order to create a beautiful picture. I always photograph from the core of my 'being', from my heart. This results in surprisingly beautiful photos with wonderful color combinations. Each photo brings harmony to the interior.
