Solomon or Solomon was, according to the Hebrew Bible, the third and last king of the Kingdom of Israel and according to the Talmud one of the 48 prophets. There is no (archaeological) evidence for the existence of Solomon or the United Kingdom of Israel.
According to the tradition in the Hebrew Bible he was a son of David and Bathsheba. After his death his empire was divided into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah, with his patrilineal descendants ruling only Judah. Solomon built the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem and he was a very wise, wealthy and powerful king, but because of idolatry and turning away from the God YHWH, his reign ended in conflict, which led to a schism of his kingdom immediately after his death.[1] Solomon is the subject of many later references and legends.
