A blackbird sings in a white birdcage. The key to his freedom lies on the table in front of the cage, but he himself cannot open it. A watermelon the bird has to eat, but it cannot fly.
A dove comes to bring an olive branch. Maybe she can open the little door of the cage?
The background is decorated with stars and poppies. The colours are mainly old rose, red and white with accents of black.
Currently, there are quite a few heartbreaking conflicts in the world, with innocent civilians becoming victims of war violence. As an artist, I would like to ensure their safety.
The technique I used is collage. I build my illustrations from layers of paper and like to use vibrant colours. Symbolism from nature is important to me here.
It is an image that speaks to your heart and the colours are therefore warm. Nice for an interior that could use some warmth and colour.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
