Modern, colourful and abstract portrait. Inspired by artist Frida. The eccentric, free-spirited Mexican artist Frida lived her life full of passion, despite severe trials. This zest for life is reflected in her flamboyant work. For instance, she literally wrote viva la vida (live life) in a painting when she was already looking death in the eye. This work is based on that.
Carla van Iersel lives and works in the Netherlands. She photographs, paints, draws, and creates digital illustrations. Her images are often a mix of these techniques, resulting in unique artworks, such as photos with drawn elements or paintings with a digital touch. Carla's oeuvre includes a wide range of styles, from abstract portraits and colorful collages to contemporary still lifes. By combining both analog and digital techniques, everything is possible. Her works are featured on Dutch TV and the VTwonen magazine. Interested in a commissioned piece? Feel free to contact her!
