Born 1956 in Essen, Germany, I started drawing before I learned to walk.
In 1973 I started my training as a professional lithographer.
1977 worked as a lithographer for advertising, newspapers and magazines.
1982 I started my design studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf in the fields of illustration and packaging design.
1983 Besides my studies I worked as an illustrator for magazines like Spiegel , Handelsblatt and Ehapa Publishing (Mickey Mouse).
1988 I started my work as a freelance packaging designer.
1990 Junior designer at the design agency B, M & R in Düsseldorf.
1995 Founded my own design agency Design Ahead, which is still working successfully in the field of corporate and packaging design today.
2014 Author of the book "Haas von Klee und der Fall Mea Lumina" under the pseudonym Joe Shepherd. (ISBN 9783732299430)
2019 Illustrative collaboration on the book "First Ladies of Speed". (ISBN: 9783749479832)
