Unique sustainable portrait of Gareth Bale hand-painted with paint scraps on waste wood The original artwork was created by Dutch artist Gerhard van Dijkhuizen of hou2use. Together with his friend Colet Scheper, he creates sustainable art (particularly portraits) with paint residues on waste wood. Their work has now been sold in 12 different countries across three continents. Gareth Frank Bale (Cardiff, 16 July 1989) is a former Welsh footballer who usually played as a right winger. He swapped Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid in 2013, who paid €100,759,417 for him. This made him the most expensive footballer of all time at the time. In September 2020, Bale was again rented to Tottenham Hotspur and in July 2022 he traded Real Madrid for Los Angeles FC for free. Bale made his debut in the Welsh football team in May 2006, of which he became the all-time top scorer in 2018.

Unique, affordable and personalized art, portraits and gifts on preferably old, used or discarded wood.
We are Gerhard van Dijkhuizen and Colet Scheper. Together we came up with the concept hou2use. Based on a photo we invent, design and create unique, personal and affordable art on wood. We strongly believe in sustainability and therefore we prefer to make portraits of people or (domestic) animals on used or discarded wood.
We love most art on commission. We then conceive and create, together with you and especially for you, a custom-made work of art or portrait on wood.
Thanks to our special collaboration with Werk aan de Muur, you can also reproduce our unique work in virtually any format and on virtually any material!
