Modern portrait of a Geisha with watercolor and pieces of painted and printed paper. In Japanese culture the colour green stands for youthfulness, eternity, vitality and energy. It has therefore always been a popular colour for clothing.
My name is Helia Tayebi, living in beautiful historic Delft. Always stimulated and inspired by beauty and this as the main motivation to make visual art. People fascinate me the most, which results in the genre of my work: portraits. In doing so, I use existing or my own photographs. I would describe my style as expressive and modern, yet with classical elements. I work with various materials such as pastel chalk, ink, pen, oil paint and acrylic paint. Besides working from my own inspiration, I also enjoy working on commission. Within my own style, I take into account the specific wishes and taste of the client.
