Sacred geometry by Cees Heijdel Sacred geometry assigns symbolic and sacred meanings to certain geometric shapes and geometric relationships. According to Stephen Skinner, the study of sacred geometry has its roots in the study of nature and the mathematical principles at work in it. Many shapes observed in nature may be related to geometry, and geometric proportions and geometric figures were often used in the designs of ancient Egyptian , ancient Indian, Greek and Roman architecture. Medieval European cathedrals also contained symbolic geometry. Indian and Himalayan spiritual communities often built temples and fortifications on design plans of mandala and yantra. Mandala Vaatikas or Sacred Gardens are designed on the same principles. I as a graphic designer have added depth and colour to geometric shapes and lines, the transformation that then occurs I find very interesting.
I make photo manipulations with a magical realistic atmosphere. I call them dream landscapes.
