Grinnell Glacier is located in the heart of Glacier National Park in the US state of Montana. The glacier is named after George Bird Grinnell, an early American conservationist and explorer, who was also a strong supporter of the creation of Glacier National Park. Located in the Lewis Range, the glacier rests on the northern flank of Mount Gould at an average elevation of 2,100 metres, in the Many Glacier region of the park.
The glacier can be reached after a 9.7 km hike from a starting point at Swiftcurrent Lake. The trail has an elevation gain of just over 490 metres, most of which is in the second half of the hike.
