Frank Peters Profile picture Hadrian's Wall England at sunrise. Hadrian's Wall is for the most part in Northumberland National Park. The defensive work was built in Roman times and formed the northern border of the Empire. The wall was meant to stop the barbarians, the northern tribes. There is a path along the remains that runs from east to west, a nice walk from coast to coast.
