Halong Bay in northeastern Vietnam is known for its emerald green waters and thousands of towering rainforest-covered limestone islands. Junk cruises and sea kayaking excursions pass islands named after their shapes, such as Cho Da ("Stone Dog") Island and Am Tich ("Teapot") Islet. The bay is a popular region for diving, climbing and hiking, especially in the mountainous Cát Bà National Park.
