Paul Meijering Profile picture Realistic acrylic painting of the German painter Hans Hassenteufel featuring one of his nudes, painted by artist Paul Meijering - the original painting is 120 x 90 cm and available for purchase.

Hans Hassenteufel (Berlin, 27 January 1887 - there, 15 August 1943) was a German painter of portraits and female nudes.

He was born in Hamburg and received private lessons there from Rudolf Jacob Zeller, followed by studies at a private painting and drawing school in Munich, managed by Walter Thor; then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where his main professors were Peter Halm and Franz von Stuck.

He remained in Munich throughout his later career and created an immense number of female portraits and nudes, many done in Orientalist style. He occasionally painted landscapes and still lifes. Many of his works were published in the form of postcards. Hassenteufel died in Munich in 1943.

At his spare time he painted and his efforts are characteristic as far as man plays an important role are concerned, or to put it in his own words: 'Each human being tinkers at his own existence, it is the source of inspiration to explain the non-verbal by way of painting'.

The paintings attracted attention at various exhibitions and he was frequently approached by trades-people, hotel-keepers, merchants. These customers were for the most part interested in large wall-paintings and decorations. In the year 2000 the painter develops a speciality that's quite unique: he applies himself to paint football pictures. After a year he gets the chance to realize an open exhibition for an indefinite time as well with the Dutch Football Union 'KNVB' in Zeist as in
