A portrait of a young woman in blue, grey, black with shades of pink and red. I created this work intuitively. I did not feel I was being seen. But as soon as I close my eyes, or shield them, I can better turn inside, to myself, to my heart. That is how I make contact with the source, the universe or God. That is how I see and feel myself best. Hopefully this work will remind you that you can always turn inside and find the peace you are looking for there. The work would therefore be very suitable, for instance, in a meditation room or in a (hypnosis) practice. Influences of art movements pop art, pointillism, art nouveau, stile liberty, modernism català, modern style, fauvism.

Maureen Kroep (Losser, April 14, 1980) of The Art Kroep is a graphic designer and illustrator based in the Netherlands. Her whole life has revolved around design. From childhood, she has been busy with crayons, markers and brushes. Drawing, painting and designing is in her system (and on the wallpaper of her old nursery). It is both her outlet and catalyst.
Maureen first studied architecture and then completed applied design with a major in publicity. After this she also completed the Grafisch Lyceum in Zwolle and had a variety of graphic workplaces.
Her illustrations contain various themes, but are mainly characterized by the colorful nature, the diversity of people and everyday things. She loves playing with colours, lines and shapes, mainly inspired by the art movements Pop-art, Jugendstil and Art Nouveau.
Maureen: "Black and white illustrations are not really my thing! Color brings life to my drawings and quite frankly I can't live without it."
She hopes her work finds a way into people's homes and hearts.
